The format was interesting for the children and kept them engaged. The information was broken down into simple concepts they could understand and relate to. My son was able to implement the strategies he learned immediately. It was truly impressive. Julie, you truly have a gift in understanding the social difficulties of these children. I am so glad that Evan was able to benefit from your expertise. We look forward to future Perspectives. Thank you so much. Laura (parent of son in elementary school)
Each strategy you shared with him (and us) has been helpful. (My son’s) self esteem went up a whole notch from this program. His behavior has been phenomenal! He just feels so proud of himself. He is now initiating friendships with others and using more appropriate responses. – JC (parent of first grader)
Everything you do is wonderful and very helpful. We deal with a lot of people to help Benjamin and it is very obvious to us that you absolutely genuinely care about these kids and their struggles.- JW (parent of elementary aged son)
I think the concepts are great and you should keep doing what you are doing. There isn't any other program around like this. – LE (parent of son in middle school)
This was our first experience with a formal social skills class and I could not have wished for a more positive experience for (our son) This type of class is exactly what he needs at this point in time as he struggles to fit in the tumultuous world of middle school and teendom. He wants so desperately to "fit in" but often balks at taking this sort of direction from mom and dad. He was very receptive to listening to the lessons from you and was then, on occasion, willing to accept reminders and guidance from me when I first referred to the topic as being from the class or from you. The tools and techniques you provided us with were so useful. Please keep on doing what you are doing. This sort of social skills class is exactly what so many "special" kids need, but is not provided by any other resource in an organized fashion to the best of my knowledge in this immediate area. Thank you so much for investing the time and effort that you do in
providing these classes! – Pam
THANK you girls...you all truly have a gift for working with these children!
Laurie (parent of son in middle school)
I am so thankful for this program, and for the commitment and enthusiasm of these two teachers. We learned specific language and cues to use at home that were not only helpful for our son with ASD, but even with my other “typical” children, in enhancing all of their social skills. The opportunity for my son to meet and learn about other kids like him, in a setting that was safe and fun was so valuable. Also, the chance for me to network with other parents in this setting was fantastic. Perspectives is a program geared towards helping our children to succeed, in a way that makes them feel independent and confident in their abilities. Thank you, thank you, thank you.” ~ Marci (parent of elementary student)
